On Tuesday evening (20/8/24) the team were called via Lancashire Police to assist with a fallen climber at Noggarth Quarry, Barrowford. Team members were mobilised and responded to the scene where a climber had taken a fall of approximately 5-7m.
The casualty was checked over by team members, and once additional resources arrived on scene they were provided with pain relief before being packaged into a vacuum mattress and onto the mountain rescue bell stretcher. The casualty was then carried ~750m to the awaiting ambulance.
A shout out to their fellow climbers for their assistance and initial care of the casualty keeping them still and protecting them from getting too cold whilst waiting for assistance on scene, as well as to the farmer for opening access gates to assist in the evacuation.
As ever we wish the casualty a speedy recovery
