With just over a month since the last callout, last night (29/4/24) we were requested to assist the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust (NWAS) with one of our specialist stretchers to help in the safe extraction of a time-critical casualty in Whitworth, where the NWAS crew were already on scene.
The team deployed a limited response of those volunteers who were closest to our base to collect one of the vehicles with the stretcher requested. These team members had left our base and were on their way to the scene, before receiving word that the casualty had been extracted to get on their way to the hospital. As such the team could stand down. Vehicles returned to base and we wish the casualty a speedy recovery.
