March 18, 2023CALLOUT 10
Yesterday (13/03/2023) saw the team received 2 call outs, the second request came in at 16:30, for many less than 20 minutes after being stood down, the team was contacted by Lancashire Police to assist in the search for a high-risk missing person in the Simonstone area. Team members were deployed to an RV (rendezvous point) where they met with the Police Search Advisors and other officers.
As ever it seems, all too often the case, the light was fading and the tap from the sky was fully opened as the rain didn’t want to let up. In true spirit but that was not to deter the team. Fortunately, 3 hours after the initial call police confirmed the missing person had been located and was safe and well. Team members stood down from their taskings and made their way back to the RV point before a quick debrief and then departed for home to dry out, with members finally leaving our base by about 20:30.
