March 30, 2025CALLOUTS 28 & 29
Another busy week for the team this week! After being on an intense search for 3 days we were the team we then called out on Thursday to reports of an 89 yr old who had slipped in country park, on challenging ground on the outskirts of Accrington.
The lady had sustained a lower leg injury. The team were first on scene and after initial assessment she was treated by on of our team paramedics. The lady was the packaged onto our bell stretcher and extracted to the road to meet the ambulance.
On Friday we were called out again by North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust to a 69 yr old lady who’d also slipped while walking a dog on a steep grassy area that was inaccessible to the NWAS ambulance crew in the Rawtenstall area.
Having sustained a lower leg injury, paramedics first on scene treated her. The team drove mobile 1 up as far as we could to the casualty site and used the bell stretcher to carry her mob 1, which is fully equipped as a patient-carrying ambulance. We then drove down to the waiting ambulance and handed over for further treatment at the hospital.
We wish both ladies a speedy recovery.
