CALLOUTS 18 & 19
January 22, 2025CALLOUTS 20
On Sunday afternoon (12:20 2/2/25) the team were contacted by Greater Manchester Police to assist with a walker who had become stuck and was unable to extract themselves from a bog on the moors near Knowl Hill, Rochdale.
The team were mobilised alongside other emergency services and made their way to the location. As team members were making their way up the hill towards the location, they were informed that the casualty had been assisted by Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS), and safely extracted the casualty from their entrapment. Team members met with the walkers and accompanied them back off the hill, where the ambulance service checked over the casualty.
We wish the casualty all the best and hope this doesn’t deter them from spending time in the great outdoors in the future. For all our followers, as ever please be cautious of bogs and bodies of water on the moors, although it may appear obvious, it is often not clear the depth or scale of these hazards.
