On Saturday morning (30/11/2024) just before 11 am the team was contacted by the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust (NWAS) to assist with a casualty who had suffered a lower leg injury near Heywood.
After arriving on the scene, and with no one at the initial what three word location provided, the team were able to make contact with the informant and got a more accurate/detailed description of their location. At the same time, a member of their group had also made their way back to the initial rendezvous point to meet with the team.
Our team members made their way to the location approximately 1km (in the opposing direction from the initial w3w location) from the RV point. Upon arrival team medic treated the casualty, splinting the injured limb before packaging the casualty onto a stretcher and carefully extracting them from the woodland and to a local farm where they were then transported in the team vehicle back to a location where they were assisted into their own vehicle to make their own way to hospital.
