June 3, 2024CALLOUT 18 – Call to assist casualty on Pendle Hill
June 12, 2024CALLOUT 17
On Monday evening (3/6/24) shortly after 5pm the team were contacted by Oldham Mountain Rescue Team with a job they had been sent initially, that was in our operational area. Shortly after we got the message from the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust (NWAS) too, requesting assistance to extract a casualty from Queens Park, Heywood.
Our team were deployed to the location and assisted a lady who had suffered a lower leg injury whilst walking her dogs. The NWAS crew were already on scene and had splinted the casualty’s injured leg as well as provided some pain relief. However, the distance and terrain of the extraction was not suitable for the crew alone, and as such had requested the team’s assistance. Once team members were at the location, they assisted by placing the casualty into our bell stretcher to evacuate approximately 1km to the ambulance.
The team wishes the casualty a speedy recovery and wish to pass on our thanks to the members of the public who assisted too.
