On Thursday evening the team were called out by the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust (NWAS) to a young lady on Pendle with her father and brother.
By chance, leadership were having a meeting at base when the call came in and responded directly in Mobile 2 and our 6 seater buggy.
As the team advanced up The Nick of Pendle, a party of 3 were walking towards the buggy and on asking it was confirmed to be our party. The young lady was struggling with the situation and still quite distressed but her father and brother were happy to keep walking down the track to their car parked nearby.
Although the party found the track down and started to make their own way, this is a prime example to remind everyone that we should be called, even if things change for the better. As we say, “It’s better we’re called out and later not needed than to be needed and not called out” After all that’s what we’re for 24/7, 365 days a year.
