Last weekend, on Saturday afternoon (~13:00 18/11/23) the team was contacted to assist the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust (NWAS) with a casualty who had been out on some mountain bike trails bike near Sabden.
The team was deployed alongside the air ambulance with reports of a serious lower leg injury. Team members made their way to the location and, upon arrival assisted the paramedics from the helicopter who were already on scene, before extracting the casualty on our bell stretcher (with roped backup) to go up the steep and muddy slopes to the waiting air ambulance.
We wish the casualty a speedy recovery.
