September 29, 2023CALLOUT 47 – Call to assist NWAS in Whitworth
October 16, 2023CALLOUT 46
Yesterday afternoon around 17:00, the team was contacted by North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust to assist a lady who’d dislocated her knee whilst walking through woodland near Bury.
Our duty leader along with other members went directly to the location with the team’s response vehicle, mobile 2 following shortly after with further members with the required equipment to aid extraction.
The area was very boggy underfoot and difficult to negotiate, however, once the lady was comfortable we stretchered her through the woodland and then transferred to a simple rope system for safety on the last push/pull up the muddy banking. The lady was then handed over to the land ambulance for further assessment and taken to hospital for treatment.
A great example of the bread and butter work we do in close proximity to the community, utilizing medical skills, stretcher carrying, and rope rescue.
We wish the lady a speedy recovery.
