On Tuesday evening (20:30 29/8/23) the team was contacted by the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust (NWAS) to assist a mountain biker who had fallen causing an injury to their lower leg, meaning they were unable to move from their location on the moors between Hameldon Hill and Mitchell’s House Reservoirs.
Team members were deployed along with our off-road buggy and 4×4 Hilux to assist. Whilst the buggy made progress over the moors, other team members made their way towards the casualty on foot.
The casualty was checked over and was getting very cold, so they were then wrapped in a casualty bag and given some pain relief before being assisted into the buggy for transportation off the hillside. They were taken down to the awaiting ambulance for onward transportation to the hospital.
We wish the casualty a speedy recovery.
