CALLOUT 35 – Call to assist NWAS in Bacup

This morning (08:00 22/08/23) the team was contacted by the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust (NWAS) to assist with the extraction of a casualty from a property in Bacup.

Although far from our “usual” terrain, an ex-team member on the scene was well aware of the teams’ capabilities and specialist equipment we carry. Whilst other avenues had been explored but were either unavailable or unable to achieve the desired goals with the equipment they had, they, therefore, requested the assistance of the team to help in the extraction of the casualty.

A small team of 4 were deployed to the scene. The casualty was able to be extracted safely to the awaiting ambulance and then transferred to the hospital for further care. We wish them all the best.
