CALLOUT 40 – Call to assist NWAS is snowy conditions

This morning (07:20 10/12/22) the team was contacted to assist the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust (NWAS) with access to a patient’s property near Whitwell Bottom, where the crew was unable to proceed due to the snow/ice.

Team members made their way to the location, along with Mobile 2 our 4×4 Hilux, which met with and then transported the NWAS crew to the patient’s address. Once there, they met with some of our team who had made their way up to the casualty’s home on foot.

Our team volunteers remained at the location whilst the crew dealt with the casualty and also contacted the on-call doctor to discuss options of treatment that may be better than moving the casualty and taking them to the hospital.

Once this was sorted, team members were able to stand down and return home / to their day. The team vehicle returned to base and was sorted for any further deployments.
