May 24, 2021CALLOUT 49
The team were contacted yesterday evening (18/5/21 at 18:35) by the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS 🚑) to assist with an injured teenager in the vicinity of Hurstwood, Burnley.
Our team volunteers were deployed along with the North West Air Ambulance Charity (NWAA 🚁), arriving first on the scene, shortly followed by the NWAA crew. The casualty had sustained a suspected injury to their hip and was assessed by paramedics before being transported to the car park to meet an ambulance for onwards transportation to the hospital.
A total of 18 team members stopped their plans, left their homes and families early in the evening to attend to this incident.
Remember, RPMRT is a full volunteer organisation that responds to those in need in our local community. The teams’ volunteers are on-call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. As a team, these heroes give selflessly to the community whenever it is needed, but they also rely entirely on donations from members of the public to carry out this essential life-saving rescue service.
