Yesterday evening (24/4) at around 19:20 saw another callout for the team, the 4th in past two days.
We were contacted by the North West Ambulance Service to assist with the evacuation of an injured horse rider near the River Calder in Burnley.
The paramedic on the scene was one of our team members and was quickly joined by the team vehicle and volunteers who made their way to the location.
After some additional pain relief was provided, the team placed the casualty onto our mountain rescue bell stretcher. A short carry later, over the footbridge and they were transferred over to the awaiting ambulance.
We wish the casualty a speedy recovery.
